Do you remember?

菓子の箱の中から、その菓子を食べている「サクッ、サクッ……」という音が響いている。普段は気にも留めない音が、菓子の形や味、歯触りをも蘇らせる。私は「食べる」ということに興味がある。食べるという行為は人間の五感を使う行為である。“目で見て”“音を聞き”“匂いを嗅ぎ”“身で感じて”“舌で味わう”。しかし、ここの音を聞くという行為は他の感覚に比べて私達はどこまで意識していているのだろうか。
私は今までの作品でもたびたび普段の生活においての人の音への意識の希薄さを取り上げてきたが、今回もそういった意識で制作した。作品タイトルも問いかけている。 「覚えていますか？」と。

You could hear the sounds of eating the sweets from its package. The sounds even if usually tend to be neglected can remind us of the shapes, the taste and even the tooth touch of the sweets. I am interested in “eating”. We use five senses to eat, as we “watch”, “listen”, “smell”, “feel” and “taste”. As to listening the sounds, are we aware of it as much as the other senses?
I have taken up the little awareness of the sounds in our daily life so far. This work was also made with the same viewpoint. The tile is asking to you, too, “Do you remember?”.
