ある池より
ここは愛知県の犬山にある“入鹿池”という池。
昔、ここには入鹿村という村が存在していた。それが約350年前、この場を田んぼ等へ水をひく貯水池にする為に入鹿村の住人は数両の銭や免罪などと引き換えに移住させられた。そして、この村は“入鹿新田”“丹羽郡前原新田”“奥入鹿村”“神尾入鹿新田“菊川新田”の5ヶ所に分けられて現在も存在している。この村はそういった歴史によって作られた池という事だった。
私は、竹筒を池に浮かべ、それを桟橋の先に設置した。竹の筒先からは鳥や犬の鳴き声、車の音、子供が遊んでいる声といったような村の風景音が響いている。その音は、先程述べた移住した村が現在どこに位置するのかを私が一つ一つ調べて、5ケ所の村の音を録音し編集して、5つの村の風景音を一つにまとめた音である。
池の底から、本来であれば現在聞く事ができたかもしれない村の風景音を聴く事で、ビジュアル面では存在しない町の風
景が鑑賞者の頭の中で観えてくる。

There is a pond called “Iruka-ike” in Inuyama, Aichi.
There used to be a village called Iruka-mura long time ago. As it was changed to a reservoir for the rice fields, people there had to move to somewhere by getting some money and indulgence instead. It was divided to five parts, Iruka-shinden, Niwagun-maehara-shinden, Oku-irukamura-shinden, Kamio-iruka-shinden and Kikukawa-shinden, and they still exist now.
The pond has such a history above.
I set cut-bamboos floating on the pond at ahead of the pier. From there, you could hear the air sounds of the village, such as songs of birds, dogsﾕ barks, car, playing children and so on. Those sounds were taken from the five parts of the village and edited to one, for which I researched where the five parts were now.
The viewer could watch the imaginary scene of the village at the pond by listening to the air sounds of the village from the bottom of the pond.
